While I think this is an excellent shot for a portrait I don't see how it fits in with the "spooky" aspect of the challenge. If this was another challenge I would give this photo a 9. You have captured the subject excellently. The only thing I would fix would be the little white spot in his mouth. It is distracting. Great shot.

I am giving you a very decent mark but would have given you a higher mark if the ducks in the water were either slightly bigger or out of the picture all together. To me the "grace" is in the beauty of the foliage and the reflection in the water including the fact of the fog burning off the lake.

I do not know if this was your intent but the picture is not clear at all. To me it would have attracted me more if the flowers were sharp and the background fuzzy.
