Silent Sentinelby ArtifactsComment: Beautiful colors and crispness. I like how the tip of the cactus melts into the blackness of the sky. Nice capture. |

Where to?by valborgComment: Nice shot. I like the grainy feel and the lighting making your subject almost a silhouette against the background. Would've liked him to lose the bag he's holding, but I guess there is a certain interest in it being there too. You can imagine the story here...this person coming home from the store...Shopping for one...a single bag of groceries...no one to cook for...no one to dine with...::sniffle:: |

Red Rock Rush Hourby richsamsComment: This is a fantastic capture. The lighting is great and you have some really nice colors here. I loved scrolling down so I could see the whole picture and suddenly seeing that little donkey down at the bottom. Good choice in having him facing away from the camera and looking towards the mountians off in the distance. Doesn't get much more alone than this. 10 |

Just a drip!by JeanComment: Lovely autumn colors and detail of the leaf captured. I would have liked the drop just a little closer to falling so that it looks more separated from the leaf, but that's really not that big of a deal. |

One's Companyby ImagineerComment: I like your use of negative space and black & white. I think the crack in the cement is a nice touch and the fact that your subject is so small really emphasizes the idea of being alone. The only think that detracts from the shot to me is I can't really tell what the subject is. I think it's a bird (a pigeon?), andl this is going to sound like I'm a real goofball, but for the longest time while typing this, I thought it was a girl facing away from the camera and that dark shadowed area was her long black hair. LOL! Can I blame that on my monitor? Anyway, it's a great shot overall. I like it. |

The Dyeing of Scienceby channeledComment: I love the play on words, fun concept, but the photo itself is lacking in appeal. The woman's hair gets lost against the busy countertop and the lighting does little to draw interest to the display. |

What are the Odds?by arnitComment: I don't know that I would call this "science" (odds are more mathematical than scientific, yes?) but I like the shot a lot anyway. I love that the 5th die hasn't fallen yet leaving the question open-ended. The lighting, cropping, the black&white and DOF are all great. |

Sound Waves...or...Can You Hear Me Now?by Firstrich1Comment: This has a very sweet, old-fashioned feel to it which is a great way to enhance your overall theme. Using the sepia tones is perfect for this shot and your cropping is right on. I even like the border since this reminds me of pictures the way they used to be developed way back when I was a kid. Nicely done. |

Weldingby SchmalComment: I like this a lot. The brightness of the light centered in the middle of the shot creates nice, clean lines of the worker's hand and clothing and draws the eye up to the sign in the background as if this were an advertisement for Ford. |

Autumn scienceby smr78Comment: Using a magnifying glass to enhance the details of the leaf is a great way to bring out the theme of the challenge in this shot. I like how the color of the leaf inside the glass is more green than the leaf to the right of the shot and how lighting them from behind gives them a sort of translucent quality. Very nicely done. |
