Water Bound Landscapeby keibo84Comment: Great photo. Good control of the focus putting the sharp focus for the reflections of the leaf(?) grain. |

Smallest Clock on a Needleby danielcheong1974Comment: I don't have a clue how you made this photo, but it is amazing. I look forward to the end of this challenge so I can learn a little about how you created this photo. |

Forty Three Small Staples On A White Plateby NordlysComment: I like this photo. The setup is simple, but clever. I am not sure if you kept the whole shot in focus because I can't tell if the nearest staple legs are fuzzy due to defocusing or just the sticky stuff that holds them together. In any case, great shot. |

Watchworksby fldaveComment: A great shot of an amazing piece of workmanship. I like this shot because it lets me see the intricacies. With the exception of an area that is pretty dark, it is a very well composed and lit subject. |

Decayby Jason_CrossComment: I tried a shot like this once. Yours worked, mine didn't. I don't have a feel for the actual scale of the wood sample so I don't know if it really a macro like shot or not, but it is great.
Great color and focus control. Mother nature gave wonder line and you brought it to your image. |

On Feathered Wings Aloftby meneleComment: Great shot. I really like the effect of the water lens magnifying the ribs of the feather. Nice control of the focus point. I like your decision to keep the larger droplet in the background in focus and let the small irregular droplet in the foreground go out of focus. |

Timeby silverhawkComment: I was just browsing the Macro challenge and came across your image. If this doesn't win a prize, I will want to know why. Great shot.
On the more mundane technical front: The depth of field defocused the left hand screw and the hub of the watch/clock hands. I don't know what you could have done, but I am told that the depth of field extends further away from the camera than toward it. Perhaps bringing the focus a little closer and keeping the mechanism a little more parallel to the camera sensor could have sharpened the shot. I do like the effect of the slight rotation as it gives a more interesting view of the gear works. |

()by escapetoozComment: I stumbled across your photo when browsing. The thumbnail caught my attention and I feel it really deserves some comments. The model, the photographer (?), is lovely. In my not so humble opinion is that your image suffers from an unfortunate arm position. It puts skin in a position to suggest it is something other than a forearm.
Had I taken a photo and if I had thought about it at the time, I would have moved head so that the model is looking into frame instead of out of frame. I quite like the silhouette of the right side of the model's face.
All in all, I really like the photo. |
