Natures Ownby TajhadComment: I really like this on many levels. The colors are wonderful, the mirror adds more interest to the shot and it is obvious that this is in a store. I think that the subject is getting lost, though. It would not have harmed this shot to sacrifice some of the vegetables for a tighter framing of the grocer...the mirror would still give you depth. Plus the lighting on the grocer's face seems off, there are a lot of shadows around his eyes. |

King of the Roadby HauxonComment: So is he a Police Officer? Or just a rider? Hard to tell from the distance of the shot. Additionally, I don't think the houses add anything to this. Too many shadows in the face. |

Borneo tribesmanby genevieveComment: After the fourth time looking at this, I figured it out. He is playing a marimba. That being said, I would never give a shot 4 looks at a store to figure out what was going on. Maybe 4 looks to really be sure I liked it, but not to figure out the story. In a gallary, I might spend some time, but I don't purchase from gallaries, I go to wander and look.
I look at his face and he seems very sad and/or bored with his activity. This being in profile, I can't tell if I am mistaking concentration for these other emotions. I think a different angle of shot, would have been better. |

After the Long Rideby debitiptonComment: So the horse has been ridden, shouldn't she be brushing it down or removing the harness? These are just images that the title evokes. Not that this is a title challenge, but titles tell part of the story and if they don't match up just right, you lose the impact of the shot. And this shot has a lot going for it. There is a tenderness of relationship between the horse and the rider, the colors are wonderful, the texture in the gate... |

The Hikerby AlexbalixComment: The sun harmed you. He is squinting and there is discomfort in his face. Not, to mention that the coloring behind him does not seem pure. Could be a function of the basic editing, though. Hard to tell without seeing the unedited one. |

Peace Activistby SimmsComment: There is almost a sense of irony here. The b&w make this a very foreboding shot. It seems like it is a war zone instead of a peace rally. I like that, though. |

The Priestby TUBORGComment: I almost feel as if the Priest were added as an afterthought to this shot. You have the majority of this composition on the windows, thus that is what I see first. The windows are georgeous and you did a great job capturing them. |

The Traditionalistby e301Comment: I'm not sure this is exactly an environmental portrait, but giving you the benefit of the doubt, I will say that the focus is weird. I would expect a portrait to focus on the person and everything above the elbow is oof, to my eyes. The architecture is stunning and I would almost prefer to see this in a different challenge with nothing but the building and railing. |

Booze driverby LevTComment: Wish I could see more of his eyes, bring the liqour forward, change dof to reduce the background and watch out for posting license plates on the internet. |
