So the horse has been ridden, shouldn't she be brushing it down or removing the harness? These are just images that the title evokes. Not that this is a title challenge, but titles tell part of the story and if they don't match up just right, you lose the impact of the shot. And this shot has a lot going for it. There is a tenderness of relationship between the horse and the rider, the colors are wonderful, the texture in the gate...

Lovely. The lighting on the horse's face is just right for the shot, and yet the girl shows up well to. 7

As odd as it sounds I really like the sarcastic glance the horse is giving the camera....
Generally speaking in this challenge I've scored animal shots pretty low but in this case the horse really engages with the viewer and the human really engages with the horse.

In my top 3 of this challenge. Great exposure and love how the horses eye captures your attention

I'm a horsewoman by profession, so the halter strikes me as too small...and though I guess leadshank is meant to convey horse/rider link, it just doesn't work for me. But there is true love in the girl's eyes and that matters most. 7

i like the way the blues tie the horse and rider together from halter to clothing, but i wish the girl had a bit more prominence in the image, I am assuming that the portrait is of her and not the horse, so I may be off in that assessment. lovely textures and expressions.

Nice capture of a lovely moment. You included just enough of the environment to make the viewers feel like they're there.

Nicely done here. The background supports the horse's environment well.
