A Dog's Lifeby GordonComment: Well composed, the lighting really shows off the texture and rust of the fire hydrant. Like the dark blue sky, did you use a polarizer? Nitpicky comment: there is such a small amount of a tree/bush/something just to the left of the fire hydrant at the bottom of the frame, could it not have been cropped? |

Green line, 5 pm, outboundby KimblyComment: Taken on a moving subway. I don't think that the people really noticed the first time I did this. Put the camera flat on it's back on the floor (I was seated) and pressed the shutter button. The shape at the top left corner is actually me trying to get out of the picture. I really liked it when I looked at the preview, but a few subsequent shots showed people leaning over to look at the camera, which wasn't the effect I was going for. Not quite sure if that guy's face is out of focus, or if it's motion blue. Had to crop some from either side to rotate it to being straight and to get the required dimensions. Adjusted levels and curves in PS LE, converted to greyscale, and adjusted levels and curves again. I think I might like to try it with very slight blue cast to emphasize the coldness, but haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. |

Under Constructionby TRSchwartzComment: Feels a bit flat and dark..and I don't really feel the perspective. Maybe you could have moved in on the crane and pointed the camera up more. |

Lone Doggieby ChrommonkyComment: His paws and the tip of his nose are cut off! Is this a black dog? It's a great pose...the background and shadow are a bit distracting and it seems maybe something could be done with the lighting to show off the texture of his fur a bit more, though I've not had much experience with it, so I couldn't really tell you what. |

sunsetby eyegoComment: The lamp-post sort of draws you out of the nature scene a bit. |
