Shapesby GabrielComment: I love the way you composed this. I was predicting that this wold be underrated, and sure enough, it was. Congratulations still on a brilliant photo. Btw, this was also one of my wife's favorite shots (a non-DPCer). |

Velvet Staghornby sherpetComment: I love the way you captured this. When you started off the '08 March Macro challenge with this other velvet staghorn shot & followed it up with your Best of '08 entry above, it was like you were throwing down the gauntlets & challenging/inspiring the rest of us to take some interesting photos. I have to admit, your day 1 velvet staghorn shot is my personal favorite, but I do love this one too. |

Regardby L2Comment: This is a favorite of mine from the challenge & my wife, looking over my shoulder when I was voting, gave it a breathy, "Wow!" Congratualtions on the photo & I'm sure your nephew will be very grateful for this when he's older. |

Water Fairyby Man_Called_HorseComment: Actually, I'd bet there are micro-organisms in that water. I tried the personification of a water drop about a year ago just for the fun of it and ended up with the same results:
(Virgin Mary water drop)
I'm sure there are some catholics somewhere that still light candles and pray in front of my picture.
Love the power bokeh in your shot. |

LOVE by melissamp99Comment: WOW!! OMG!! I've been looking at this for a couple of minutes studying the scene, enjoying the powerful juxtaposition, and then (being a little slow I know) it just hit me like ton of bricks that you desaturated everythingn but the gay couple, illustrating how black & white the anti-gay marriage viewpoint is. There may be some technical imperfections to nitpick, but nothing that takes away from the powerful impact of how you composed and processed this. I can't wait to share your shot with my family/friends when the voting is over. |

The Game of Lifeby LCDeHaanComment: Wow. Sometimes I wish there was a special shoehorn award just for fun interpretations of the challenge. I bet your score is getting slammed, but I'd also bet you're making a lot of viewers smile with this one. Kudos for the bravery to enter this. |

Simple Pleasuresby bspurgeonComment: No doubt about it for me. The DOF isolates the subject perfectly and the whole composition is very evocative of childhood fun in the sand. Very under rated imho. |
