The pencil that thinks it's a chimney...by SoulMan1978Comment: Fun idea! The whole setup is too cluttered for me, though. A different perspective focussing on just two chimneys, a real one and a pencil one, might be more interesting. But I know how difficult it is to position yourself in such a way that no distracting stuff is in your picture, there's just too much of it around! ;-) |

I Haven't Seen Your Stupid Pencilby David EyComment: Now this is just too much of a stretch for me. Let me suggest the following test to check whether your image might fit the challenge: Imagine giving only your picture (without the title) to somebody together with a multiple choice list of four or five challenge topics. And then ask them to guess what they think the challenge is. Your goal is to choose the other possible answers (besides the actual challenge title) in such a way that most people would choose the correct answer. If this task (choosing the other options to make sure the right one is selected) is difficult, your image does not fit the challenge. |

Straight as an arrowby DemonLlamaComment: Very nice. I'm curious to hear about the setup. Is the pencil hanging from above and the picture has been turned by 90°? |

Lethal Embraceby labudsComment: Come on, people! Get over the fact that animals eat each other (and we participate, too, in both roles). It just happens to be like this, it's nature! Are you blaming the snake for eating the mouse? "Bad snake, you should be ashamed of yourself. Go eat your salad." ???
There are unpleasant things in this world. Not taking pictures of them will not make them go away (and giving such pictures a low rating won't either).
And Aleks: I'm still curious to know how you set this up. |

My Favourite Drink by MCsabaComment: Awesome picture! Something different. The drop makes it more interesting and adds a sense of scale. Composition and shallow DOF are great. One of my favorites in this challenge. |

"There is safety here" by MilesWComment: Oh, so sweet! The title is perfect, the kid really does look scared (or at least concerned) and the mum looks so unterstanding and calm. Great shot! |
