glass tubeby ralphComment: Simple, but beautiful shot. This will do very well. Could this be IreneM? If not, take it as a compliment. ;-) |

Cautious by h2Comment: Great shot! Good composition, pose, lighting, DOF. And your model even has a typical "scientist face" with the glasses and all. ;-)
I was planning to do something similar, but didn't have time in the end. I want to see this one on the front page! |

Last Danceby lauraodomComment: I'm sorry, but this is clearly DNMC. This challenge is about the "science of chemistry".
I find it a pity when I have to lower the score of a beautiful image because it doesn't meet the challenge. However, here I don't have this problem. This picture is more of a snapshot. The composition is random, we cannot see the couple's faces and the background is full of distractions. I really don't understand why you submitted this image. |

Chemically Altered Experienceby Pipe_DreamComment: Oh my. People are not going to like this, I predict tons of 1s and maybe comments like "You glorify drug use!"
It's a good idea for the challenge, but technically I'm not thrilled by the image. And the pose seems unnatural. |

Now Kids, Don't Try This At Homeby antares1966Comment: Fun idea, but it doesn't work for me. The two cups, their position and contents indicate that this is the moment before some kind of chemical reaction occurs. The expressions on the kids' faces as well as the dirt on their faces and clothing, however, looks like this was taken after a chemical reaction. Well, one could say that this is just one experiment in a whole series and that they've already been at it all afternoon, but then again the expressions don't fit. They're not expressions of expectation, they seem like a reaction to an unexpected event. |

Une Belle Paire by todbedyComment: Beautiful shot, Chris. Using French titles seems to help; I'll try that next time. ;-) |

Mutually Dependentby BudyaComment: The challenge description read: "Partnerships and teamwork are everywhere about us in nature and in human affairs; capture an image that shows a mutually beneficial relationship."
This image fits the description perfectly. I'm quite disappointed by its score. Most of the higher rated pictures basically just show two individuals - with no apparent mutually beneficial relationship. This picture captures the crucial moment in a truly mutually beneficial relationship beautifully. Technically it's also great, with perfect focus on the bee. Why would anyone give this a low rating or even a 1? I don't understand. Maybe people are not aware of the relationship between bees and flowers... |

Inseparables by BrinComment: A wonderful image, glad to see it on the front page. Enjoy Paris, it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Don't forget your camera. ;-) |
