Black Iceby kintodComment: I really enjoy the top 1/3 of the image. While the blurred lower 2/3 may be a choice to contrast with the sharp spiky forms and perhaps suggest motion, it makes this the kind of picture that I am not tempted to come back to over and over. |

Makeup Addiction: Cocaine of the Beauty Worldby LindseyJeanComment: I would consider pointing the camera a little higher to reduce the extent of out of focus foreground and to allow the composition to have full circles (makeup holder and reflection) for geometric contrast with the the straight lines that intersect with the mirror. The jumble of colored dust has interesting texture. Having so little purple in the image probably will reduce the score in a "purple" challenge. |

Ties That Bindby simplefreakComment: Looks like someone already slipped into something more comfortable. The repeating diagonal lacing with bright eyelets takes the center of the picture almost into the realm of abstract, which I like. |

Techo's Breakfast Spreadby TonyTComment: Confounding us with purple grape on purple eggplant sets the funny tone, but slicing the eggplant sends this brilliantly into the surreal zone. Very enjoyable. |

Delicateby LouisaComment: The side-back lighting really enhances the image and accentuates the interesting shapes. Nicely done. |

Reflectionsby VBesterComment: What a great use of related geometric shapes, balls, curves, dark circles with bright centers, implied diagonal line between the two large balls, coming together in a simple and beautiful design. My prediction for blue ribbon. |

The Golden Daysby Trumpeteer4Comment: I missed voting on the Anything But... challenge, so I'm glad you posted in the personal best thread. Striking picture, with the full version much better than the thumbnail prepared me to see. Good for you on the PB. Thanks for posting. Message edited by author 2008-08-21 07:54:21. |

My very first submissionby ed_lee85Comment: Nice capture of a nighttime mood. Do keep submitting. Focus can be difficult at night, but this kind of image calls for sharper focus. Play around with the focus settings or consider manual focus in low light. Having the far end of the walkway tilted makes for an uncomfortable sliding sensation that could be corrected by a little rotation in post processing. For a "purple" challenge, higher votes will go to images that draw the eye to that color. In this case, the artificial lighting could use a little white balance correction to make the purple jacket stand out more. Good luck. |

Solitudeby WalkingFishComment: Very well composed. The solid wall of large repeating stone pattern isolates woody effectively and contributes to the mood. |

us? in a box?by cutoutComment: Very artistic and smooth cut out template for the light to make such great figures. I would have placed this in the top three based on creativity, style, and composition. |
