Beatle Olympics Round2by johnagrelsmithComment: The large beetle is nicely focused, and the battle makes an interesting macro, but I have a very hard time figuring out how to consider this abstract. |

Cold Steelby darnokComment: If I scroll the image up to imitate a square crop that eliminates the upper part of the image, I find a nicer balance between the in focus lower left hand corner and the remainder of the image, with the light diagonal line (?blade) setting off a sparkling region from a darker region. As displayed, the top part is so busy and blurred that it is hard to enjoy the rest. |

City Abyssby escapetoozComment: With a different title and with a square crop eliminating part of the right hand side, I would have been happy letting my eye extract from somewhat abstract shapes a double deck subway train heading into the lower left hand corner. The title just makes me want to have the image sharply in focus so I can appreciate the abyss better. |

Graceby ben4345Comment: A circle more sharply defined would have helped the "abstract" aspect more. However, it does echo the Cheshire Cat, gradually vanishing right before Alice. |

Behind every King theres a Queenby jdixonsdComment: Interesting chess pieces, quite different than the usual. I would suggest playing with a slightly wider crop for a little breathing room, and a smaller apeture for a bit more depth of field. This may not score very well since the objects draw the eye rather than the shapes or forms independently, and the abstract idea expressed in the title is not what comes to mind when just looking at the image. |

Late Nightby mpackComment: Nice lighting of the black microphone, which would have been easy to accidentlly lose in the dark background. Although these objects may be symbolic of night life, that degree of abstraction depends too much on the title for my taste. |

Forkby QuigleyComment: Nice to have the strawberry sharply focused. Having the title "Fork" probably will work against you since that part of the image is mostly blurry background matter rather than where the eye easily lands. I suspect that completely black strawberry, existing as a nearly pure triangle with curved wide end, might have fit better in a challenge calling for "abstract" images. |

Thingsby hajekaComment: FAscinating repetition of rectangles, with just enough unexpected curves for extra interest. Echos of piano keys. Well seen. |

Circular Spiralby RooDysignComment: Beautiful assemblage of curving forms. Nice to enjoy without feeling a need to puzzle over whether this is a plate or light fixture. |
