Greetings from the CC, this is a well represented subject, it is ordinary tho it is well suited both to challenge and your use of sepia tones. My biggest criticism is the bottom of the shot is overexposed and may have done well to crop it out. I think the angle at which you took the shot made for an interesting composition. I would like to see the front of the 'back' barn, exposing what is behind the run down broken 'windows'. This shot strikes my as a historical one, that would do well to document a community or a time in history. I think it would work well perhaps in a series of similar shots. Hope that helps a bit, well done and happy shooting!

HI greetings from the CC, well my initial thought when i saw this shot I thought would of been good if the top of fence had been cropped out, focusing the eye on the tree and snow, had you shot in aperature priority you could of added some DOF to blur the fence which again distract the viewer from the true subjects at hand. I think that it is also the snow and tree truck is where the points of interest are, focusing on these two elements would be my advice : ). Also keeping strictly on challenge helps shots to score higher with most dpcers'.
keep shooting

HI greetings from the CC, the long exposure aspect of this shot turned out well. I think however that your scored suffered cuz the 'focus' (meaning subject) is incidental to your shot, it is obscured almost to the point of not noticing it. I think many may have felt it did not meet the challenge. I think especially on dpc if you want to do well, coming up with shots that are clear and sharp and simple this shot is more of an abstract. Additionally trying to find subjects that while unique and interesting, that have wide appeal may help.
So in conclusion I think if you can come up with a sharp image with a subject of interest to a wide audience I think your score would improve...if you are wanting to produce and abstract shot aware that it is not going to be widely recieved I think that is fine too : ).

Initially I rated this shot very low, I did not like this guy... on second look I asked myself why I did not like him, it's cuz he is creepy...or at least the way the shot was processed made him look that way... he is like a nightmare image, and I find it disturbing to look at him, even as I comment, granted I can't watch horror movies either, too sensitive, but in fairness to you, you have made me 'feel' nothing good mind you but I think you deserve credit for producing such an emotive image....

Greetings from the CC, well congrats on your ribbon to start! I am not sure what I can say to critique your photo to be honest, it is sharp, clever i.e. reversed smiles, well composed. Technically it is very well doen and the voters aptly rewarded you for it. I think in response to your comment, despite having been 'done' your twist of expressions really boosted this shots originality. I also think whether or not we get rewarded for trying a technique that has been done before, they can be very beneficial in learning and that is what this site is about. I have learned a lot from trying things and then when I am ready to take a more 'me' shot I have the technical know how to accomplish it... so do not feel bad about learning things here! Very well done, my favorite part of your shot is the composition of the drops of happy faces, very well placed, excellent work keep shooting and congrats again!!
