Interesting photo, with the clouds and sky bisecting the statue, but it doesn't really say "odd couple" to me, since I can't make out where the 2nd person/thing is in the shot... unless you meant the sky to be the 2nd? | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/22/2006 10:33:26 AM | Dockedby langdonComment: Great textures on the wooden dock, but the leading line of the mooring rope doesn't work that well - if you'd framed it with the coil on the left, the mooring rope would go across the image to the right, which combined with the leftwards lines of the planks would lead the eye around the image much more pleasingly. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 08/06/2005 05:27:26 AM | Room For One More?by ManicComment: FYI, this wasn't a very crowded tube train by London rushhour standards - you could fit at least 3 more people in this doorway, and if they pushed everyone back, another 4-5 possibly. Of course, we're not quite as crammed in as those in Japan etc, but we get close at times ;o) I had to wait for 2-3 trains to come by before a crowded one came by, by which point the battery on my little S40 was getting a bit low, so I waited til everyone from my station had boarded, then shot this just before the doors closed - and I wasn't too discreet about it either, hence all the people looking at me & my camera!
Thanks for all the comments folks, and all the generous votes! |

| 06/13/2005 07:26:15 AM | Viewpoints by ImagineerComment: So instead of coming to the GTG, you were out getting ribbon-winning shots? Pah! That's really selfish! Couldn't you have invited us lot along? ;oP
Seriously tho, it's a great shot, love the orange tones, congrats! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

I get the impression I've been there already... ;o) Great shot, love the colours, and there's so much interest - I just can't help looking at all the houses, wondering what it'd be like to live in them. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 01/28/2005 06:22:21 AM | The Castle and The Skyscraperby redmoonComment: Reminds me of one I took a few weeks ago, which I'll link you once voting is over - so I know that you've flipped L&R on this shot :o) You've managed to keep the highlights from blowing out, but boosted it enough to make the tower stand out against the skyline, nicely done. Oh, and it appears we're the only two Gerkin entries, which surprised me!
EDIT: oh wait, you took a shot from the north or east side of the Tower, not the south (ie riverside), so you haven't flipped the image, doh! :o) |
