This would have been a nice (thouh not very special) picture if the boy had either turned his head toward you or away from you. In this position however, a small strip of light falls on the dark side of his face, thus seriously distorting the overall view and in fact ruining the picture.

I do not know why you took this picture and I figure the lady in it is asking herself the same thing. The bw-conversion is way too gray and the camera position really does not do the lady right, nor does the look on her face. I think you pictured this lady in an unflattering way, and that makes this not a good portrait in my view.

I don't think this is a very good picture. Sleeping babies are loved very much by their parents and grandparents, but the seldom produce pictures that are worth while. Generally, they should be kept inside the family album and this picture is no exception. Nothing interesting happens here in terms of composition and so on, and I think the conversion of black and white could have been done much better. On top of that, the coloured hat ignores the theme of the challenge, and this type of photoshopping is far from original nowadays.

I do like the title though :)

I do not think highly of this picture. I think the pose and look of the model are uninterested, which is probably not what you intended to picture. Floor and background are messy and distracting. The coloured flag ignores the theme of the challenge, and this type of photoshopping is far from original nowadays.

Last but not least, I do not value patriotism as something positive, but rather as a means of manipulation. Patriotism is not a bad thing by itself, but it is misused by governments to silence political opponents by labbelling them unpatriotic.

A last minute portrait

I'm sorry to say that I found many flaws in this picture. First of all, I think horizons are generally meant to be horizontal. Second, I don't like the composition, with the very narrow crop on the right, and the plane sniffing the gir's armpit. Furthermore, the picture makes me think of a funny-mood-holiday snapshots. Funny moods are okay, holiday snapshots are okay as well, but leave them in your family album.

Most important however, the backlight makes the girl face hard to see, which I think is essential in a portrait
