A Pilot's Moment of Reflectionby todbedyComment: I as going to say something like "I would like to see a little more environment" and then I saw the reflected plane. Superb! Hope you won't get too many low votes from people that miss the plane. 9 |

The stand-up comicby burtctComment: Nice portrait, I like the composition, ligthting and facial expression. My main problem is that I do not see ANY environment. |

His Passionby brendant19Comment: Third time back @ this picture, that must mean something. No idea why, but I like it. |

John Fairhurst - Musicianby TezComment: Maybe I am wrong about what an environmental portraoit should contain. IMO, this is a guy holding a musical instrument in a non-musical environment (jail? something industrial?) To me, that is not an environmental portrait, it's a portrait with relevant props.
As a musisician's portrait I like it though. John will probably be happy with it. |

The Scientistby artvetComment: Nice composition and camera angle. Although the combination of props does not make toommuch sense to me, they create a compelling image. Well done. |

Unleashby ibkcComment: I love the lighting of this picture, it realy makes the great bike stand out.
And then there's this guy, casual dressing, nothing to do with a bike like this, and looking uninterested. There's a strange shadow @his neck, making it look liked his head was photoshopped into the picture without too much care.
I would have liked the picture better without the guy in it, implying that it has not too much value as a portrait. |

The Pianist by BrinComment: This is a pic that made me sit closer to my screen and study it. I like the composition, inclusidng the reflections. Having the piano open and seeing the snares out of focus is nice too. You did a nice job on b/w conversion as well. It is too bad though that the guy looks so bored. |

The engineerby purpleflutterby13Comment: very sympathetic portrait. It does have a recognizable environment, but it is enough OOF not to distract. great job. |

Late Nightsby zaflaboutComment: This pic has some very strong elements, such as lighting, composition, pose and facial expression. It fits the challenge very well too, and it might score well or even very well. I am put off by post processing though. To me, this looks like a paintbrushed image rather than a photograph. I am not sure what you did and whether it is legal in basic. Bottom line is I think you did too much of it and ruined a great picture. |
