... a man who sailed the seaby anotherdayComment: Now he's the kind of bloke you want to take to a bar and get some of the stories out of him. I like this shot - you've managed to capture a certain pride there, an elegance, where I think many more simple photographres might have tried to make him seem just dirty and slightly distasteful. Fine work. |

Dragon Mountainby PlanetMakerComment: Various highlights and shading in the face of that cliff don't seem to bear any relation to moonlight, not the apparent shape of the stone, which is disconcerting to say the least; it makes it look as though it were variously lit with about ten different lights, whereas I'm fairly sure it's just processing. Nevertheless, its quite an intriguing image, and presumably successful to your aims. |

Cut Flowersby TimComment: Has the beginnings of a decent image, I think. It looks as though youv'e simply pushed the contrast quite far, when to get decently detailed black and white from digital requires more subtle work; it also has extremely shallow depth of field, leaving me unsure exactly which part of your image you consider to be the main point. The bright tips of one flower have become over-exposed, and either that depth if field or your processing hasn't left much to see in the other areas. |

Angelfireby vtruanComment: I see your point, but I don't know that I would have looked hard enough without your title: cropping the image to make that shape more obviously the centre of attention might have helped. |

Chainsby dgpilotComment: Nice tonality, but not the kind of thing that does it for me, really. |

My silhouettes in the darkby sallyjo1Comment: Such regular right-angled lines really become quite unsettling, in a way that doesn't feel deliberate, if they're not framed absolutely squarely; either go for more diagonal, or properly square, but fractionally off is only ever going to look like a mistake, I'm afraid. |

foreshadowingby ralphComment: Clever, especially the blurring of the chicken-shadow. The positioning of the egg itself is a little uncomfortable, perhaps because it doesn't sit well with the edge of the spotlight. |

Enlightened Writingby diablo2097Comment: Solid work - that deep blue is usually popular here. Unsure about the composition, as there seems a great deal of dead space to image left, and i can't quite see a use for it. |
