is a extreem curve on the original (very left sided)
you can see the printed chicken & the shadow of the egg & how it fits in
i was very happy how this came together..
the original chicken came from a clipart book of 1800's woodcuts, scanned in
filled it with black (select background, invert, feather, fill) then used the transform tool to strech it ..
f4 to soften the background 'to be shadow'ish as the clipart was kind'a jaggie...
the light was a fiberoptic microscope light i had picked up at an local auction (15$ !!) gives a good diffused light ... metered on the egg so not to blow it out .... & that blended the real shadow right into the chicken ..
looked at other egg creatures ('gators, snakes other birds) but wanted something that was immead. recognizable ...

this was the last egg in the house ...

Very original. Quite blurry, though.

Great. Original. Funny.

Funny AND well executed. I like the square crop and the overall composition.

06/04/2006 07:20:20 PM
Very creative, I almost missed what was going on here. You've come extremely close to blowing out a lot of the highlights.
06/03/2006 11:48:46 PM
Excellent out of the box interprettion.

Comp great, lighting good, love the sillouett, great gradience of light, nice texture on the egg, nice b&w

Clever, especially the blurring of the chicken-shadow. The positioning of the egg itself is a little uncomfortable, perhaps because it doesn't sit well with the edge of the spotlight.
06/02/2006 10:40:48 PM
very creative
06/02/2006 05:05:51 PM

How odd, yet very creative. It took me a second to catch what was going on. Good job!
06/02/2006 12:11:12 PM

06/02/2006 10:57:22 AM
Clever. Also nice DOF and focus on the egg (which I know is harder to do than it appears).
06/02/2006 09:50:40 AM
Oh very cute. Look forward to Photographers Comments on how you did it.
06/02/2006 08:37:45 AM
I would have prefered itb without the hen's shadow, nice controlled lighting, 10
06/01/2006 09:48:27 PM
Awesome idea, and pretty well executed. The focus seems (too) soft though (or the DOF).
06/01/2006 04:33:10 PM
clever idea and nicely done too
06/01/2006 02:11:24 PM
