Glen Abbeyby ToddhComment: Haven't a clue what to score this ... as an advertising/stock photograph of a golf course it's faultless, I think; however I'm looking for something that says a little more about the sacredness of the subject than this purely technically expert representation. Perhaps there is that feeling of nature tamed, that cleaning-up of a natural world and in some sense fooling people with that here. Though I'm not certain it's deliberate, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - 8, for now. |

Heaven!by kosmikkreeperComment: I think perhaps some work on the gradation of the mid-tones might help to bring out those rays of light a touch more. There's a slightly wide-angle feeling to it too - that curve of the horizon, the nearer clouds, which hasn't helped the impression of these clouds going on for ever: don;t know if the black one top of frame really helps that much - cropped out, and with therefore more contrast range to play with ... anyhow, good work. |

My Morning Spotby vtruanComment: The noise in the sky is very odd - looks almost like it might be a serious amount of dust on your sensor, it has that irreguarity about it. There's evidence of over-sharpening too - ghosting along the high contrast edges. But not a bad image; I think I'd have tried to bring in some foreground detail as well, which would add depth to it all, and those processing problems have robbed it of quite a bit of detail |

The Thirteenth Moonby zeuszenComment: Damn. I was just about to stop voting and this piece of genius comes up. don't get the title, don't care. Wish you;d got all the edge of the tree in, mind you. Very very elegant - pictorially and graphically. Hope it isn't too odd for the rest of dpc :-) |

Hallgrimskirkjaby heidarthorComment: Something odd here - there's jpeg artefacts around the edges of the building, and I'm not quite sure how you would have got those into a black and white shot - there should be no increased compression to get down to the file size. After checking, I see that this is only 25Kb - don;t forget you have another 125K available - and that compression is ruining the detail in what would otherwise be a tremendous shot. |

household Shinto altarby kenboComment: I'm not sure the very low whites level is helpful to this shot: you haven't really got any brighter than the background grey of the site, and that reduces your options in the black anf white field enormously. |

Reflecting Upon Religionby michael_pComment: The framing with those near-ground branches is fabulous - both in terms of framing and of contrast with the more distant trees too. |

Communionby ellamayComment: Good capture - real stillness in the detail of those leaves. The Shaping of the light of the evening(?) against the trees is good too. I'd love to see this cropped to perhaps just above the horizon and to contain just the silhouettes of the trees - I'd certainly have played with that idea myself. Good stufff though. |
