I love that building. This is the picture I took of it when I was there last March. This is a clickable link.

Wow! What a building! I like the line of the roof, the way it curves around and takes you up into the shot and the bright light on the one wall is a nice contrast. But the contrast in the overall shot is a bit wanting. I would have liked to seen this in color as well. A 5 to start, a 7 to finish

I sort of remember trying this same angle years ago, but not getting nearly as good results! You have inspired me, I'll have to try this again next time I'm back in Reykjavík.

lovely! i could never pronounce it, but it's a fantastic shot. i love the way the light follows the curve of the building.

Except for that one arched window on the lower-left, I'd just as readily believe this was a prison building.

I love the perspective on this, and the choice of black and white, but it seems somewhat dark, and I would like to be able to make out a little more of the detail of the rest of the building. There seems to be a wonderful arch door there, as well as some interesting lines on the other side of the building. Overall, a very nice shot though.

Scandinavian or Icelandic? Nice perspective and framing, great contrast of light and shadow.

I love the feel of this image, the perspective gives a feeling of motion. Very well done. 10

We visited this place in Reykjavik last spring. It's stunning, and you captured a glorious image of it. Nice idea to use b/w.

a very fascinating building and an interesting camera angle...it has a good reach to the sky

A little dark for my taste, B&W was a great choice though, I think the way the shot is composed makes this a great picture.

Lovely B & W pic, especially the way you've captured the sunlight only on one portion of the building. The shadows are still light enough to see the details of the church. Way to go Reykjavik :-)

Something odd here - there's jpeg artefacts around the edges of the building, and I'm not quite sure how you would have got those into a black and white shot - there should be no increased compression to get down to the file size. After checking, I see that this is only 25Kb - don;t forget you have another 125K available - and that compression is ruining the detail in what would otherwise be a tremendous shot.

perhaps a little more contrast would have been better?

While you have fulfilled the challenge very well and I do like this photo I think it may have worked better in color. However, either way it does not seem to quite clear. I like the angle though and the building.

For all the pictures I have taken and seen of Hallgrimskirkja This is the coolest angle. I'd be tempted to see how it would look with a tad more contrast, but it is gorgeous just the way it is! 10

Virðist halla og svigna soldið asnalega, get varla einbeitt mér að myndinni útaf því, mjög truflandi. Átta mig samt alveg á því að þetta er hugsanlega effectinn sem þú vildir, mér fynnst hann bara ekki alvg vera að virka.
