Stockroom Rollersby cainnComment: No sense of a point fo focus in this, for me. The very shallow dof works against the image a little - I think just a touch more depth might have given the eye somehwere to dwell, for at least a while. The metallicness of the metalwork is fine, but I'd love to see some sense of the texture of the roller surfaces too. Not a bad use of mono though. |

Brown Riceby Rusch24Comment: If only there were a touch more interest at the point of focus - perhaps a spoon or something, just to break up the unrelenting similarity of this - even the background tones very closely with the rice. Not really enough detail to capture the texture of that rice where its in focus, even though sharpness seems ok. |

Conformityby keoneComment: Lacks much real sense of texture for me: as a rhythmic composition it has good points, especially your colour rendition - but I get no impression of roughness or smoothness from this. |

Orangebladeby ChezComment: There is some sense of a variety of textures here, though I don't know that they're actually shown rather than just emphasised by the familiarity of these things. Composition is static - nowhere for the eye to wander around the frame, and it seems an odd choice, with this set-up, to place the orange so centrally. |

Martian Landscapes (yes, it's a mars bar!)by redmoonComment: There was another one of these recently, was there not? Was that you too? Intriguing view, though doesn't have a great deal to do with texture to me, ertainly not as in feel. An interesting perspective though. |

Leaf with veinsby tkalectComment: Almost ... the light is perhaps a shade or two too general to really communicate the feel here - I don;t think you've made quite enough of the variations in the surface - perhaps a lower angle still to the surface of the leaf would bring out the feel more. Good detailing though. |

Blackspruce Sunsetby mrbobswondersComment: Great tones here. Sufficient space for the eye to wander through the frame, and never loses the attention. Even with what appears to be quite direct lighting, your contrast work and colour has presented a great feel of these things. |

A Touch of Textureby KINGComment: Neat approach - interesting to take the idea of touch in this way, as wellas to communicate the feel of metal (?), or perhaps laquered wood as well as you have photographically. A very coherent, balanced photograph. Detailing is excellent, and the tonality brings the focus to the fel of the subject very well. |

Peekabooby scalvertComment: Good sense of the sensation of freshly laundered cloth. Fine portraiture, but perhaps more interesting to the child's relatives than to me. I can imagine the aunts cooing from here. 6 |

SOLEby Polecat123Comment: Despite the very ropey focussing, and odd colouring, there is some extent a feeling of the plastic texture of this. The patterning comes through OK - but it really is quite an uninteresting shot I'm afraid. |
