I love the "complimentary color" usage to this shot. I'm just wondering if you're getting a lot of comments about it not being "soft enough"???? I've found that DPC voters take the challenge descriptions quite literally and unless you've followed it to a "tee", they're not going to give it a fair shake. Hope this isn't the case with this one because it's a really lovely shot!

Lovely! Love the feel and editing that you've done. Nicely done! Reminds me of a Dr. Achoo shot in the Rhythm III challenge in July of this year...only soft focused. Loved that one too.

What a cutie!!!! Really suits the "soft focus" as a subject. The only thing that I could say on this one would be that the lighting, perhaps, could be a bit better, but then again.....try getting a shot like this and the opportunities. They don't come easily, do they? No time to fuss with lighting, I'm sure. I really like this one. Tugs at my heart strings.

Very lovely! It suits soft focus very much. Just out of curiosity....my bet is, you'll get at least one who comments on the "lighting" aspect....bottom corner and being "blown out"???? I did one not too long ago and got a comment like that. I really like this shot! Very nicely done!

Actually, someone has commented that the model looks like she is taking her head off and I have to say that she almost was! *grin*

This is my daughter and she was tired of trying to pose, tired of seeing me head her way with a camera and just took a break when I shot this. One of my fave photos of her that I've taken. It may not have done well in here, but I love it! That's all that counts for me.

"I don't see a silhouette here. I see seats? Where's the silhouette?"

"Where's the sunlight? You need to have the camera facing the sun and totally blind yourself in order to win at DPC! Don't you know that?"

"The main subject is not completely black with a light background! I'm stumped as to how to score this now! Where's the light background and the black figure?"

"Where's the nude?"

"I don't see Icelandic Mountains anywhere. Can't possibly ribbon!"

"Had you changed the background, took out a few seats, ripped out a wall to let the sunlight in and sat someone in one of those chairs while facing the sun....it might be worthy of a better score. 1"

"Looks a little out of focus in spots to me."

"The backs of the seats are rounded. A real stadium has straight seats. Looks staged....too staged to me. Next time, use real seats. Oh, and some of the seats should have been left down. Looks fake."

"The seats on the upper right hand corner look blown out. It's distracting. I think painting them black might have worked better."

"Was Earl there? Where's Earl?"

"Looks to lonely to me. I would like to have seen people there because seeing empty seats makes me cry!"

"Where's the dinosaur....CHOMPY?"

"That white stripe on the lower right corner really distracts my eye. I can't see anything BUT that white stripe! I don't see the photographed subject at all now because of that white stripe."

"I think you should have done some desat here rather than black and white. I'd have liked it better if the seats had have been purple cause purple's my favorite color. I had a cat once that I painted purple. Wish it was in this photo. I would have given it a 10."
