butterfly posing as an owlby eyeduphotosComment: Oooooooo you have a touch of macro envy from me here!!!! I love taking these kinds of shots, but I have never been able to get the eyes the way that you have done here
I think that another one of my sweet comments might also represent other peoples 'sour' comments if this was in a challenge, because I really like the way it does not fully fill the frame which (from my perspective) means you get a chance to look at the butterfly and really appreciate its form. However in a challenge people may want more of an 'in your face' image.
I like the way the wings run across the rule of thirds line and the bokeh. Even the dof of the leaf is perfect
Sour...I am struggling on, perhaps the antennae could have been a tad sharper, but in truth I wish I had taken this picture!!!!! |

day 5 silhouetteby fotofanComment: Beautiful stopped motion shot. Fantastic composition which creates a very aestetic image.
Excellent negative space as well and I love the changing hue from cyan at the top right to almost purple and the bottom. My only minor sourcomments would be the dark green line on the left and running through the bird is a bit anomalous and distracting and there are a couple of places were the white clous appears a tad harsh/blown out

Bunkers in the Mistby GeneralEComment: I am guessing you took this through the window of a coach or something. Very interesting shot and great subject for the challenge but I do have to say that the reflections are quite off putting |

come fly with meby whiteroomComment: You have created a fantastic effect here. It looks like an old postcard that you might find at the back of the attic
I love the indistictivity of the person in shot (although I am guessing it may not be to everyones tastes)
I may have almost prefered this without the kites which may have given in a real scary sense of dislocation
Still a lovely shot though |

Mare d'invernoby Rino63Comment: For some reason this makes me think of the old Ingmar Bergmann film 'the seventh seal'
The boat looks as if it has been lit in a film set which provides a wonderful contrast with the sea in the background
I really like the blended effect on the duotone which means you have great contrast but that it is not too harsh |

Yesterday's Jazz Todayby CharleneComment: A title that makes the schoolboy side of me giggle and giggle (and which is far to saucy to explain).
Fantastic duotone, that makes me feel like I have stepped back in time to the 1960's
I love the effect that the lighting has created here. It is almost simultaneous low and high key
Great shot |

Left Behindby EstimatedEyesComment: Lovely composition and duotone conversion. Perhaps a little to heavy on the added noise but still a good shot |

Threatening by aberrationComment: Wow great photo which almost has a steinbeck-esque quality. I love the perspective and the clouds are fabulous
Super duetone conversion - 9 from me |

At restby nico_blueComment: Beautiful duotome study, I like the crispness and serenity of the shot. A couple of wonderful little touches. The sharpness of the tree on the right and the fact that the mast of the boat looks like it is reflected to the left (which I appreciate is actually another boat) as well as in the excellent reflection)
Very nice shot |
