Autumn Leaves Quietly by ImagineerComment: Without a shadow of doubt my favourite picture in the entire challenge
Love the POV and a fantastic dof which means although the viewer is some distance from the subject that they can see exactly what she is doing in great sharpness.
The pose looks very natural (if this is a genuine candid then I salute you for having been able to pull this off so well...If it isnt, well it looks like it is and is all the better for that)
Lovely black and white conversion and the border works exceptionally well
Its a big 9 from me |

A Closer Lookby WalesPComment: Sub 5???? Sigh!
Cracking shot, which made me think of petroglyphs (in fact I would have bet it had been taken in a cave).
Undoubtedly suffered because it required voters to really look at it and did not lend itself to skim voting
Clever and original |

TX State Capitol Buildingby WalesPComment: Ron
Great shot, it scored 7 from me (which as ever is the kiss of death for photos in challenges) I REALLY like the fact that you did not tread the obvious black and white or sepia path for this image.
Compositionally wonderful and a sharpness to die for...This has been the effect that I have been trying for when I have shot the old bailey in London and I have never come close to getting anywhere near as beautiful as this
Magnificent |

Profile in Nobilityby SandyPComment: Sandy
Another one of your astonishing animal portraits (you really should be a wildlife photographer). As always you amaze me with your sharpness, your composition and the richness of your tones.
Simply wonderful |

Hands in Pocketsby bassboneComment: Peter, I love this photograph which almost has a feel of the late 70's to it. Moody and atmospheric and simply remarkable given the equipment you were using. Love the lustrous sepia tones |

patterns in natureby rozComment: Roz you crazy galah!!!!! I loved this shot!!!! As Michelle said it had a feeling of the magic of Christmas (it would make a super cool card to send to people)
Brilliant that you also used non sepia or black and white for the challenge. When I was scoring the challenge it had been like a breathe of fresh air when this shot opened
Sorry you 'only' finished 12th |

Bob Woz Ereby colorcarnivalComment: Great textured shot, just looking at it makes me feel I could both run my hand down the coarse wood and I that I can almost smell that freshly sawn smell
Great repetitive patterns (always a favourite of mine) and beautifully lit which complements the duotone perfectly |

Hinder&US.jpgby Dirt_DiverComment: One of those photos that should be taken at exactly face value...a nice shot of a bunch of friends hanging out and having a good time
I guess this might be killed in a challenge because it has a bit of a snapshot feel about it, but I would bet that the memories of the day/night would far outweigh that |

Peek-A-Booby Dirt_DiverComment: I think this is a great 'out of the ordinary' portrait. I am a big fan of 'half face' shots and I love the way that you have used the brickwork to create the effect. I also think that the vignetting on the left side of the frame works well as it brings out the almost transllucent skin of the models face. Great job on the eyes too and I love the fact that they in many ways 'match' the jewellery she is wearing (I always think it is the little touches like this that help turn a good shot into a great one)
Sour...I may have been tempted to crop slightly more on the right side of the frame to exclude the area where the brickwork/building changes patterns |
