Courtyard of the Skyby jaysonmcComment: Nice shot that meets the challenge well, the high contrast between the sunlight and the shadows is a little harsh, but there was not a lot you could do about it. |

A beautiful breakfastby rockchic3000Comment: Hey buddy congratulations on finishing your first challenge...and with a score that I think beat my first challenge one. Also very cool that you got 44 scores of 6 or over!!!!
I love the bright splash of yellow and red right in the centre of the picture (especially the way the red is reflected in the biscuit barrel)
I guess not everyone liked the foreground but as we always say its about taking shots that you like
Nice one!!!! |

Fenced Pigsby BAMartinComment: A very good image for the challenge, which now knowing the backstory to the shot is even better. Often in the UK we say that Americans do not understand the meaning of irony, but I have to say having such a wonderful peaceful mural on the side of a slaughterhouse suggests otherwise.
I also really like the fact that you shot it through the fence...these pigs mays look free but really they are captured (again a touch of poigniancy given the building)
Nice shot |

High Tide at Sunset by bassboneComment: A great 'silky water' shot that I have no doubt would have done even better but for the fact that there seemed to be a plethora of them in the challenge (says the man who took one of about 1,000,000 moving car lights in the same challenge). perhaps one of the problems with DPC is that on occasion you can see so many things of beauty that you become a tad blase about them and not appreciate them individually for the wonderous images that they are
I love the sharpness of the rocks in the foreground and the shells on the beach are another great touch
Lovely image which like several in the challenge was sadly underrated |

The Forgotten Horsemenby CharleneComment: I just love this photograph and cant beleive it did not finish higher
To see the plaza illuminated like this is breathtaking and the fact that the horsemen of the statue are in the dark but that their silhouette is so clear is a fantastic touch (although from other comments that you got I can see that maybe others saw it differently)
I like the way you burnt the skyline as well to give a real inpenetrable blackness to it
Beautiful |

hatsu yukiby colorcarnivalComment: well I am a bit grumpy as the first time I went to comment on this shot just as I finished the DPC server went down for maintenance (9am UK time)
Anyhoooo to reprise...
This is a fantastic shot with so many things to like about it. The focus and sharpness on the deadhead is perfect (and the added snow is a wonderful touch). Given the subject of the challenge I thought it was brilliant that the deadhead was really the thing of beauty and the new bud relegated to the background.
The DOF on the new lens really gives the image pop and I love the fact that it made the green garage door look like a bokeh lawn.
Great image, and desreved to score even higher than it did

Just Across The Street.by ShannonLeeComment: What a great photograph, not only in terms of the breathtaking 'heavenley light' but also for the fact that it appears to be illuminating lambs which of course are very symbolic religiously
Many congrats on the top 20 finish, thoroughly deserved |

Christmas Explosionby KarenNfldComment: Karen, I am sure on occasion that you must wonder if I just say these things because we are 'friends' but I have to say I LOVE this shot, it stood out a mile in the long exposure chalenge.
A wonderful explosion of colour that made you feel that the tree was flying through psace towards you. A magnificent image that would look wonderful on a Christmas card (a very cool christmas card)
Brilliant shot and congratulations on the top 20 placement |

I Bid on Reflectoporn and All I Got was this Haunted Potby colorcarnivalComment: To hell with the score, this is one of your fantastic surreal and to be honest slightly scary images which I have become accustomed to.
I bet you this suffered at the hands of speed voters who did not spot the face in the metalwork
Many congratulations on the evolution to working in RAW (perhaps appropriately giving the title of the image)
Weird and wonderful |
