The Lowly Pigeonby KarenNfldComment: Cracking shot Karen that got an 8 from me although I am surprised you have pigeons (winged rats) in Nfld as I thought they were generally city birds. I loved the tight crop, the sharpness and of course the range of colours which had a real electric feel to them. Very impressive finish in what I thought was a challenge which had a lot of outstanding images in it

shakin' all overby rozComment: Well, your post voting comments mades me laugh...good advice which I would do well to remember myself on occasion.
I guess its reassuring for someone like me to know that even great photographers can have their off shots. The funny thing is that this is nearly a great shot, I loved the suspended water coming off the ducks body. Strangely I actually prefer it on some levels to your outtake, which although technically is a better shot and I am sure would have scored higher feels like a very safe option, this however was an image that felt a lot more challenging

Weaving the tapestryby toskComment: My favourite non black and white shot in the challenge which really does capture the spirit of the competition. Great sharpness (excuse the pun), perhaps would have scored better if the tapestry had been of purely complimentary colours, but I have to say I perfer it like this as the viewer gets the feeling that they are looking at something that is real and not just staged for a photo. 8 from me |

Before laserjets and inkjetsby MelethiaComment: Great image of a craftsman at work and one that both fits the challenge well and but also stands alone as an excellent image. I love the accentuated blur on the hands (although for some reason I find the very very slight blur of his head a little distracting. A suer shot though and bumping to 9 |

Forgotten Oneby anthonyczajaComment: Oooo I bet it was a tough call whether to entre this shot in the architecture or old ways challenge, because it fis both wonderfully. I love the addition of the girl running across the lawn which adds to a superb sense of isolation in the image (and makes me think of the film the Last Emporer)
Breathtaking |

the Good ol' Daysby LaMasComment: Taken outside the realm of the 'standard' old car shot by the fact that you have incorporated such a dilapidated looking fuel pump (is it really working?)
Great use of sepia as well |

Centuries Oldby lentilComment: I love this picture both in terms of the challenge itself and as an image in its own right. Too often pictures of this kind can either appear either too staged/cutesy or intrusive. This avoids both those bear traps and feels like a genuine shot of both a man and his culture
Great black and white conversion. Hope it does well for you |

The Sausage Maker by jasonlpriceComment: Possible (IMO) the best image in terms of meeting the descrition and the idea of the challenge. When you add thisto the very strong balck and white conversion and the wordless story that the sausage makers face and arms tells it all combines to make a genuinely outstanding image. Bumping to 10 and I hope this does brilliantly for you |

Escape 1907 by The_DentistComment: One of my favourites of the challenge, great image which works very well simplt because of the contrast of the centred and repretitive image with the stromg leading diagonals that the stairs provide. Possibly could have done with a little more contrast but I am guessing that you kept it a touch muted to add to the 'aged' look of the shot
Very good job |
