No Parking, Day 13by jackal9Comment: Great textures shot, both in terms of the sign itself and also of the three elements of the 'wall', the wood, rough plaster and brick..each of which you have brought out well with an overall impression that is complimentary yet still distinctive |

The Band Who Knew Too Muchby RetroesqueComment: Do I even need to say kudos for getting another completely different shot. For me this works as an interesting slice of life image (especially with the chap on the right looking so intently at the poster) although because your last shot was simply beathtaking it maybe suffers a tad in comparison
Excellent 'dirty' urban feel to it though |

Day 13 - Lost?by Bruce_the_RobertComment: Great slice of life shot - although I am not too sure how anyone can get lost in 'Narch'...;-)
I love the expressions. Noy too sure whether what has caused the grain (big zoom?) which if I am being 100% honest does detract a little from the overall effect. However you get the feeling that this might have been one of those images that you just had to seize the moment on without having too much time to worry about settings
Love the bokeh |

Day 12 - Pencilsby meneleComment: DNMC!!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!! ;-)
Really nice macro, I love the textures on the tips of the pencils and the contrast of the darkness of the crack running down the white pencil. Lovely leading lines and to be honest the green really makes this an excellent shot |

Lighthouseby RetroesqueComment: Well the anglo-aussie appreciation society is bang on track today!!! Yet another really different shot and in terms of composition my favourite of yours in the challenge to date (overall I do prefer father and son but that is because of the emotions in raises in me as a dad!!)
I love the contrast...we have proper black and whites and only a shard of grey (which actually offsets the predominant colours well). Excellent reflections and a great example of how you can break the rule of thirds because even though the lighthouse is bang in the middle of the shot there is no distraction from the other elements because it stands out so well (without being harsh)
Absolutely top job!!!! |

Dome View 2by krnodilComment: I love the fact that you are playing around with different effects of the same (excellent) shot. I still think that the first one is my favourite (Day 9 selective color blend) but this pushes it a very close second. You can say the sky is not that natural but it feels like there is a big impending storm coming. Also the technique you used really sharpens up the image and the contrasts. I like it a lot |

DAY 12. B&W. rural ..by rozComment: I can never capture mist as well as this. I can feel the dampness of the air just looking at it. It gives the shot quite a harsh feel (especially in terms of the sky) but for me it really works. Maybe a slight crop on the right to remove the small branches and therefore make the mist shrouded tree stand out even more? |

DAY 11.5. B&W. emily hogs the bubbles ...by rozComment: I love this slice of life. The last image of emily had her looking straight at the lens and worked, this one has her completely oblivious to you and works as well. Great expressions on all the kid's faces, especially the boy who is looking at the bubble and who therefore leads you to it (when I first saw the picture it did take a second for me to realise what he was looking at). Only question I would have would be whether the vignette works. You say this was a rushed shot but I have to say it is lovely |

DAY 11. B&W. emily .by rozComment: Oh what a beautiful image, sometimes having a model look straight at the camera really doesnt work, but here it is fantastic. Love the softer tones and bokeh
I bet Renee loves this |

Rooted in Sandby noranekoComment: Catherine, I love the slightly minimalist feeling that you have been getting in some of the pictures in this challenge and I have to say all your pictures with sand in them have been stand outs to me and this is no exception. Beautiful image. For your triptych I hope you are going to use desolation and beyond as they were just beautiful images, not 100% sure whether they would work with this shot as perhaps there is a touch too much going on in it, but it might be worth trying them either side of this and seeing the effect. Whatever you go for I hope we get a chance to see the finished product |
