This is a nice image that could have benefited greatly by some different choices in cropping, IMHO. I would have concentrated our attention on the great potential for symmetry here by cropping out most of the bottom, a bit more from the top & some from the sides with a bit more from the right- enough to get rid of that overblown top right corner plus bring that strong vertical line right down the middle.

Great choice in subject, but I think the execution is a bit faulty. We're off-center, but only enough to make it feel like it wasn't intentional; focus is slightly off or the image is just plain soft overall; image is lacking in contrast & dynamic range even though there's plenty of it there potentially; that bit of red in the bottom row is bothersome & I would have composed differently or cropped it out.

IMHO, this really could have been an awesome entry had it been carried out better!

Love the muted tones here - the thumbnail is a real interest grabber & the full size doesn't disappoint! A hair more saturation & contrast would have tickled my fancy, though - y'know, bring out some of the lovely tones that can be found in rust shots. I like the choice in composition & crop - << 7 >>

I love the composition & the tones present in the outer edges, but I wish there wasn't such a disparity in exposures. The center would be so much nicer stopped down much further - this would be a great candidate for HDR! The colors present in the middle circle just don't jive well with the rest of the image - in fact it looks like tons of CA to me.

The unusual border is...well, unusual. Not sure if I like it or not, I think it might detract overall. This is a bold image though... << 7 >>
