Taxies in front of the station, in the evening.
Processed with AL (lightroom), which I really really love.
I guess a higher point of view might have helped, but I´m afraid that then the photo wouldn´t be as natural as it is now. I liked the black and white variant, although I was almost going for a very desaturated colour version.

I like this. We have exactly one taxi in my town..

Yes, you need the top part for precisely the reason you gave. This is a great choice of subject. What I don't like here is (1) lack of an accent (the pattern itself is not an accent, there must be a "raisin" in the bun), and (2) the elongated format of the image.

I can see that you are having fun with your new DSLR; this had a long way coming, good luck with that! :)

Quite a lot of detals here for a below average image

I think a tighter crop and a higher point of view would result in better patterns, but then I´d lose that nice natural feel that the two taxis and people at the top give to the image. I mean, it´s the top of the photo which brakes the purely geometrical, thus cold, patterny look of the image.
Black and white works much better, because color is to distracting. And, as Jutilda observed, I wanted this to look like a shot from an old movie, with very strong contrast.
Thanks...

Nice image, though the overexposed taxi lights don't work for me and detract from the impact of the image as a whole. A bit brighter, with perhaps a bit more contrast would have worked for me, though I like the choice of black and white, and also the long horizontal proportions of the photo.

this - I like. A bit more of what's at the bottom is what my eye wants, but it's always understandable that it can't have it.

Tighter crop would be better.

Why not shoot it in color?
