Looks like a good b&w film shot. Touching.

How can this be? I thought that the dish already ran away with the spoon. Very clever, especially after an hour of looking at hearts, flowers, and rings. Well executed, too, except for a couple of distracting reflections in the spoon.

I like this one a lot, especially the moody lighting and pose. I'm surprised it didn't score better.

I didn't vote in this challenge, but I saw in the forums you were looking for critique. I think the main problem is that the motion isn't stopped. If you look at the "splashing water fruits and vegetables" that scored well, you see that the motion is completely stopped, and the fruits are all absolutely sharp. The only way I've found to really stop motion in this kind of shot is to shoot in a dark room and use flash to stop the motion. A flash will fire faster than your fastest shutter speed. You also might want to use a white sheet or something (waterproof) out of the frame on the sides to block any stray colors from showing up.

The thing that's both a blessing and a curse with studio shots is that you have full control over everything in the shot. This kind of control can create an amazing shot, but also forces you to be much more exacting with every aspect of the shot. Good luck in the next challenge.

Well done, even if you were "selling out." I thought of doing the same thing, but didn't have a clear container to throw the fruit into, and figured there's be 10 people who did it better (like you and Larus, for example).

A question. Is the orange really kind of a squashed shape, or is that an optical illusion?

A nice reflection picture, but it doesn't have much to do with the topic.
