Taken on the stairwell outside our flat, the model is my flatmate who is a trumpet player. Lighting isn't brilliant as the lights are fixed on the wall pretty firmly :P.

This is my first attempt with a model and I'm not fully happy with it, especially the lighting on the face, but i need to start submitting to this more and working with my camera if i want to improve. Also first use of my sigma lens, so there is promise for it.

Over Christmas got a book of a collection of images of jazz artists so thats what inspired me to go for this kind of shot for music rather than a set up shot of an instrument against some music.

I like this one a lot, especially the moody lighting and pose. I'm surprised it didn't score better.

Love the moody lighting. I like that you've taken the chance with the unusal composition with him facing out of the frame and through the railing. The risks paid off in my opinion, good work.

Excellent! The verticle bars really add to this photo. Nice lighting too.

Very moody image. The lighting on his shirt and face and the use of the hat and the stair railings to darken the image were all well done.

Nice shot. Lighting looks good and B/W works for this composition. The foreground is a little distracting but overall good capture.
