Atop the Barrelby TurbotechComment: I like the tones of this, nice amount of brightness and contrast. It's a great shame the boat wasn't more towards the left of the photo. Nice work, John. |

Aviation nostalgiaby mannenComment: I'm trying to think of something wrong with this photo that I can comment on, but I can't find anything. Very very nicely done. |

Veiled In Memoriesby cjadams1Comment: Composition: Nice use of ROT's
Technical: Nice lighting and colourisation. Might have chosen a border to bring out a bit of contrast. I guess the size was limited by camera, but a little bigger would have made a big difference.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: I guess this is a lower-end camera. If so, you've done an excellent job.

First look at summer snapshots.by jjbeguinComment: Composition: Would have preferred the subject more in the centre of the image, and larger if poss.
Technical: Nice use of leading lines and nice coloursiation. It looks like it could be rotated a little CCW?
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: I think I'd have gone for a more sombre title, but nice idea.

130 years and Still Standing!by vtruanComment: Composition: Interesting angle of shot. Could do with rotating a few degrees counter-clockwise.
Technical: The over-exposed sky draws the eye quite a lot. The whole pic is in focus, so you could have focused high up on the building so the camera thinks "oh, it's bright", then drag the camera down with the button half pressed. This would mean the sky isn't so white. Otherwise, the colouring is quite nice.
Meets challenge: Mostly.
Overall impression: Good effort. Practice with exposure will help a lot.

Galaxianby russiComment: Composition: Interesting that you left a lot of the background in. Think I might have made it a little squarer.
Technical: The lighting position/shadows are good, but it seems a little dark, meaning noise is a little high. You also seem to have over-sharpened; the right hand side has a white line.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Good effort.

Forestby pitsamanComment: Beautiful shot. It seems somewhat oversharpened along the tree trunks though. :-( |

Long Forgottenby autoolComment: Composition: Think I'd be tempted to leave a little more space above the top of the trees, and sacrifice a little ground.
Technical: Nice focus. Really nice smooth noise-free sky.
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Nice shot. I'd have liked to see more of the building close up.
