My first out of studio shot using natural lighting. I do not know if I like it. I am just wondering. Hope you all enjoy it. I just would like to say i got up very early in the morning for this shot.

Good catch, to me it looks almost like he's holding onto the boat. I like how this photo was taken around sundown, it gives it a nice soft look. Nice job getting the surfer at the peak of the action. The horizon looks slightly tilted but it's not a big deal. I wish you would have gotten closer, but I realize you probably had limitations on zooming.

Nice capture. Shot is a bit noisy and the boat spoils the simplicity of the shot though. Good composition.

Great capture. Would like to see the shot without the boat in the background, but still a very nice crisp shot. Very dymanic. Jacko. 9

looks like he's hanging onto the boat - bad luck on the timing

I like the tones of this, nice amount of brightness and contrast. It's a great shame the boat wasn't more towards the left of the photo. Nice work, John.

great shot but the first thing I see is the border...still a beautiful photo

Very good action shot. I think the border overpowers the shot. Shame about the fishing boat being right there, too.

Ugh... it really sucks that the boat had to go by just at that time... Otherwise, this is an amazing photo. Great exposure and colours.

good capture, but the merger with the boat is unfortunate . Good light in the spray on the surfer too

I find it very unfortunate that that boat is in your shot and distracts from all that this shot has to offer, the light in the 'splash' is fabulous, the composition of the surfer and his 'frozen position' are really excellent. Good capture.

Wish the boat wasn't there....Great shot otherwise

I like this a lot, but I have mixed feelings about the boat in the background. It seems like the surfer gets a little jumbled in with the boat. I like the perspective that the boat adds, but I probably would have liked it better had the boat been further on the left.

I know from my own experience how hard it is to get a good surf shot, and you have done well!

Shame about the border..
