I’m not liking the scratchy overlay. It is too obvious and distracting. It takes my attention away from the nice underlying photo. And the blur on the right side is also distracting.

There was nothing in the challenge description that said the image had to be colorful — only the objects. I understood your intention with this image, although I didn’t know the sad and disturbing story behind it. So many of our best photos come from our subconscious trying to work out disturbing and painful things.

I don’t understand why this didn’t do much better. Great color: of the original glasses, and the merging of the colors through the glasses, and even the shadows on the table; beautiful focus and shallow DOF with sparkling bokeh; and a very cleaver composition.
