Though it is real. Get on a plane. Hold a polariser up to your eye and look out the window. That's really what it looks like :)

(I do know sort of what you mean but I have the same issues explaining it)

It is real. It just looks very unnatural, even though it is entirely natural.

I find this a much stronger composition if you crop most of the sky out of the shot (about an inch of the top, so there are no areas of white in the trees)

That way, my eye tends to stay in the scene. It doesn't jump up to the bright, high contrast areas and I stay within the shot that I think you want us to look at.

You rotated the lens, I moved the camera. Different effect, somewhat similar in feel.
