Why can neon be art ? Well, why not :)

Shot right at twilight to get the deep blue sky background. Tungsten-ish white balance to further enhance that contrast with the blue/ red/ white sign. Tweaked the exposure and contrast a bit to finish.

Long exposure, rotating the lens zoom and focus to create the stepping effect. Lowest ISO and highest aperture, to give a longer exposure.

Funny stuff.

You rotated the lens, I moved the camera. Different effect, somewhat similar in feel.

Going by scores, I think you made the right choice ;)

He, he, I'm flattered to think that we might have been thinking along the same lines. My entry would have been this:

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/578/thumb/423260.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/578/thumb/423260.jpg', '/') + 1) . '
