Probably one of the best dog portraits I've ever seen. I'm 67, have had dogs my whole life with vets, trainers, and breeders amongst friends over the years, and seen quite a lot of pet portraits.

I am putting in the caveat that this is a combination of my opinion and impression(s).

I'm giving you a 3.

From a straight up presentation with conventional editing, it's not super sharp. I'd like to have a feel for what I am supposed to see here. I don't know what the intended focal point is. Assuming that it's the nest, it's dead center which is a tough composition to fly.

I mentioned the sharpness, and the branches in the top right corner are beyond distracting, in my perspective. There's another single, errant branch in the lower right corner. Also in that lower right corner there's another peculiar element that is odd.

I honestly cannot conjure up anything from this offering that says "Portrait" to me.
