I meant to come back and comment.....I loved this shot but did not get a chance to vote it. To tell you the truth, I like it better as a statement than as a challeneg entry simply because it's such a great shot. I wholeheartedly love where you were coming from in the challenge as well.....and if you look at my profile and follow it to my entry, you'll see what I mean!

Catherine, this pic is wonderful! What a shame about the EXIF data. My only question is what are the blurred blackish areas above the head and back? The detail and definition of the heron are amazing! What lens?

Ya know what? I can't find anything other than this photograph is just too smooth and subtle to have been picked up on properly in a challenge.....you won't get people to take the time to really look at it. They want the Icelandic shock photos. If I was visiting, and this was in the hallway between the kitchen and the main room, I would have gotten stuck there admiring it. Very nice shot.
