Very nice, a bit under-exposed but a difficult shot at low-light conditions.

This might be better if you could zoom in to have the ducks fill more of the frame and crop so the subject is not in the middle of the picture but in the bottom third.

Hi Kristin! You are possibly right on both counts. I had my 300mm zoom almost wide open and did use a bit of sharpening (2 stops in DPP/RAW). As for the rule of thirds, I thought that the mass of water was already overwhelming and this would be even more so, placing the ducks in the lower third.... maybe that may have been the way to go... I'll try to re-crop and see how it looks! Helpful comments. Thanks!

Hey Aref, keep trying. This is a nice shot, and in a more appropriate challenge, would have scored much better.

In addition to entering a shot that meets the challenge better, you might look at this tutorial to prepare your entry for the challenge. Most voters will vote lower on entries that are less than 640 pixels on the longest side.

Hi Ann. Thanks for the tip, kind words and the very useful tutorial! The color-space section is informative.

Very captivating. Wonder how much more wow could be created with a lower perspective and a higher horizon line.

The lily is over-exposed. Otherwise, nice idea

Would have been more compelling with less of the trees. Nice.
