No more phone calls!

First thing I think of is 'wow that's a small phone or a large baby bottle'. It's an interesting idea and fun take on the challenge. Technically it's not so good. There are light flares on the bottle - open challenge so no editing so that makes it a tad more difficult. You've cropped a little too much off the bottom and it's a tad unbalanced compared to the top - ideally you want to leave a little space all around a subject. I'm not sure what the black thing is, I assume a battery power or something, but it distracts from the phone and I dont think it really adds anything to the shot. Because the bottle is laying down on the background the background has become part of the shot, whereas ideally you want to isolate the foreground in shots like these. I assume there was a reason why you didnt stand the bottle up.

Composition is fine, meets the challenge and goes with the popular saying. I dont really see anything 'wrong' but it doesnt have much appeal or interest to me in the long run. Just an average photo for me, sorry.

Oh my goodness, those poor things. Whereas this does meet the challenge, I have to wonder how many shots it took and how long they were in there. The potential for disaster looks very large. Hrm, can I give an unbiased opinion of this. What I see mostly is shock, very eeepy, that said I dont care for the cropped out base of the blender - should have tried to get it all in or cropped it higher.

The idea is good and meets the challenge. Firstly, the image seems a little small, remember you can go 640 pixels on the longest side, which can help with the details in the image. The wrinkles in the fabric and the fact that it is so close to the other elements makes the background become an element in the shot. A way to avoid that is to make sure the foreground elements are not leaning against or too close to the background. The image also looks underexposed, which an adjustment with levels or curves in an editing program could have helped with.

A few things I notice with this image, but mostly it's personal preference. I'm not a fan of the sunflare, I dont think it really adds anything to the image other than a distraction. The flower on the right is partially cropped out of the frame. There seems to be way too much open green space in the top left corner. The lemon is a little too centered in the image, but the idea of placing a lemon among flowers meets the challenge. Overall the image is fairly soft as well. Some suggestions - dont shoot toward the sun, you'll get much better lighting at around 90 degrees most of the time, and try to remove as many distracting elements from the background as you can.

A Bean of Another Color

Good idea and meets the challenge. The white beans have good color to them and stand out well from the background, with just the highlights a little blown. Because of the dof used the black bean (or is it blue?) looks somewhat like a dark blob. I'm assuming you were going for the ostracized look, which does work, but I think having the black/blue bean be more in focus and more defined would be better, even possibly moving it to the lower right hand corner.

The idea is cute and certainly fits the challenge, but it has a 'snapshot' feel to it. A single color background, such as a sheet over the chair, would have cleared some of the distraction from the background and isolated the foreground elements more. The bear on the right is cropped out of the frame and ideally would be better completely in the frame. The lighting could also have been slightly brighter, which may have helped with the softness of the image also.

Sorry, I dont see it. It's a good image, but dont believe the fog is out of place. It's natural, it looks good, and i'm always looking for it in places.

Certainly room for the title at the top. There is a little blurring of the hand, but it suggests motion, the rest is nicely sharp, and well exposed. I could see this on the cover of the magazine.

First thing I notice is the landscape orientation, but I'm sure a magazine layout editor could still work with it. You've got close, which is good, but in doing so you've cropped out parts of the dog that could look odd if the shot isnt full frame like it is now. S/he has something in his/her mouth but you cannot see exactly what and so it becomes more of a distraction. The white on the right hand side looks blown, but part of the nose is dark so there is some uneven exposure. There isnt much to see of the left eye as it falls within the dark area so some dodging in a photo editor may help some.
