Mardi Gras

Great photo...it really captures the festiveness and gaity of Mardi Gras. I love the extras you added to accomplish this, such as, the streamers on the sides and the sequence scattered about, all done very aesthetically. I also like the soft shadows. Only thing I would like to have seen, is a spot light on the feathers, or maybe some fill flash to illuminate the top feathers a bit better.

Very neat composition and I like the way you've captured the green water in the foreground and the orange sunset in the background. I do think that the exposure is a bit too dark and would have preferred a more saturated sunset, but shooting into the sun is difficult.

Secondary salad

Would like to have seen a more interesting arrangement of the veggies, such as cutting the cabbage into a wedge and slicing the carrots into strips and maybe arranging on a cutting board. Also, lighting seems too harsh.

Nice colors but this shot has potential to be better. First, the lighting coming from the top creates shadows on the bottom that detract from the softness that I think you're trying to portray here. Secondly, I find the focus a bit too soft and also, would have liked a crop that rendered the subject in the middle of the frame.

This is a really great idea! Maybe had you sturred them around a little more you would have gotten some swirls that would have added more interest to the image.

I would have preferred that the top background be another color such as orange or purple to add a little more color. Nice focus and DOF. I also like the reflection in the foreground.
