I wanted to make this look like a sunrise, so I left the glare in. Live and learn! :) I will put a version up without the glare in my portfolio. Thanks to all who commented, I really appreciate all your help and time commenting!

This is going in my favorites before 12:05am tonight. I love this shot - it's one of the better backlit shots I've seen - and I love the reflection - it looks like sunset on a lake. Excellent work. 10

Wonderful shot with really creative use of lighting. Slight shame about the hot reflection at the bottom but otherwise I love it. 8 - floyd

This is very lovely. The highligt in front and center does compete for attention with the subject though. Outside of the challenge you can clone that out. However for the challenge the best solution would likely be to crop.
The subject is beautifully backlit...very nice!

I really like this photo. I would like it even more if you didn't see the glare of the light on the surface, though.

Nice Composition. Very original. I really like this idea. The flare in the bottom middle is distracting. 9

I like the backlit flowers but am kind of bothered by the highlight on the table which is very distracting. Still gave you a high mark.

i like the idea, but i see jpeg artifacts... i had the same problem with one of my pictures and somebody suggested that i save the file as an uncompressed tiff, edit it like that, and only save the final copy as a jpeg... it really helped a lot!

Pretty lighting, but the reflection is so bright it steals attention away from the flowers. Would have been nicer without this, IMHO.

Dramatic but not sure I like the lighting here and not sure why. I think because of the glare lower center? When I cover that part of the photo it looks better. That glare just seems to comand the eye's attention.

The colors in the flowers are nice. Had the flare in the front been cropped out - the flowers could have been the stars.

good job. nice pic.

Nice effect created with the backlight. Exposure seems good. The only thing I might of tried would be to include more in the foreground.

Very creative lighting ... don't see this set up to often. It makes the petals glow. Did you try cropping out a portion of the bottom part to remove the glare for the ligh?. Good luck. Jacko. 8

The light is very nice from behind. It's a pity about the white overexposed line in the middle though.
