Pressureby thelselComment: I admire the person both who can think of an image like this and who can take it so exceptionally well. |

Little golden nailsby pikytoComment: Great composition. The green background works exceptionally well with these brass nails. This is a beauty. |

Cowboy's Toolsby gingerbakerComment: Exceptionally well done. Darker background with the foreground bright rope gives this a rustic, western feeling. Beautiful image. |

A tool of the pastby SteveZComment: Would rate this 1 point higher if it had a little better contrast. Otherwise this is nicely composed, pastoral image. |

Measuring Upby CraigDComment: This is one of those images that makes you say, "Hmmmmm...". Probably best not to speculate what is to be measured. :) |

Cross Cutby scrum8Comment: This is one of those images that plays tricks on the eyes. Painted sawblades are among the last remaining icons left from the golden age of the lumber industry. |

Corkscrewby MikaelComment: I can never decide if I like an image like this with the front in focus or the back like this one. I this case though I think I would have liked it better if the front were focused and placed lower and toward the lower right corner to make the shadow on the left stand out better. Shadowing is really what would make this image outstanding. You might have had to give it a slightly wider angel to show the whole shadow. |

Carefull with that axe, Eugeneby rhipsterComment: This one is sick, of course, but exceptionally well done and should be scored high. I hope people don't give it low scores for content, but I'm sure some will. It is very well composed and the while mottled background makes the rest of the image stand out. Very clean image; well, except for the blood. :) |

The hammer head and the remoteness toolsby denisprayComment: The concept of having a set of tools in miscellaneous positions is a good one. I like that. However IMHO implementaion could have been better. You can put my thoughts in the "for whatever it is worth" department; I mean no disrespect.
Number one, this needs more brightness and contrast. That would make the tools stand out out better and the background jet black. Two, for me it does not work that the foreground object is so large and close yet it is out of focus. It begs to be the main subject, but it is not. A different arrangement would be better. Lastly, with a dark background it is important that colors stand out. Yellow and red are both fantastic colors for a black background. In this image the color should be adjusted more to bring that out. |
