Ok, so I don't really like to have my picture taken, but I felt like this was a great idea, and am happy with the results. I have all the lights off in the room, with light coming from the ajoining room, and some natural behind the camera through windows.

Just so you know, I didn't mark it down for nudity or length. I would have liked to have seen the ruler closer to the camera, and less grain on you.

I'm glad this one is finally over so I can comment on this picture myself. First off I knew from the start that I was going to get low balled on this picture for the nudity, and some people can't handle it. Second I had never even thought about how long the ruler was, and got more comments on it being at 11 inches than anything else. I tried to set up the ruler so that it was the focal point, and took up the main part of the image, I guess thats my fault for not taking a measurment first and then setting it up.

Finaly I have to question the entire voting theory of the site. After looking at my vote breakdown, which has three distinct curves. And the winning picture has two peaks, but no distinct curve. I have had enough math and physics as a physics major to understand statistics, and neither my picture nor the winning picture fit well in any statistical model. I understand that people can't always be predicted, but I think mabey more than just an average needs to be looked at for placement. How many ones did I get because of the nudity. How many ones did I get because the ruler was out at 11 inches. I know I sound like i'm mad, and mabey I am alittle mad, but not because I didn't get first place because too many people are voting for reasons other than the picture quality and this is evident in the vote break downs.

interesting idea. i like the gritty quality of the person in the shadow. even though i see that it is centered, can't help feel the measuring tape part should be centered under the person, not the whole thing. but that's just me. :o)

Nice idea, I really wanted to do something like this too. I feel like the background is a little grainy though.

I like how it looks like the measuring tape is floating. And I think your shot will hit a chord with a lot of the males voters : ) good job.

11" ???? Some imagination.

i have no doubt that you will have the most commented on pic...and since everyones smart ass comments will be passe by now....I'll just say good idea, good execution...the male ( you? ) is a little dark and grainy, but it works here. I hope too many don't take off for that. I would have liked to see a different color table or whatever the ruler's on....a dark table may have worked better imo. thanks for being creative...another hammer pic was gonna make me slit my wrists...

Cute idea, not a wonderful image tho. A bit more light on the guy would have helped.

This is one of those images that makes you say, "Hmmmmm...". Probably best not to speculate what is to be measured. :)

naughty representation of the challenge, but i like it, something unusual and not so cliche. ..maybe just a little cropping below...but above all...its great..is it okay if i give you a 9?.....im sitll thinking if ill give you a 10...congrats....and good luck

Funny take. Point for humour, but your model is very pixelated and out of place in the dark. The image looks overworked a little. Also the composition is not pleasing in this case. The very blurry front distracts from the main subject - the tape.

Good concept only if you were not so hesitant in the execution - can't give points for being bold :(
