Good concept but the ripples in this image lack depth and interest. Perhaps taking them at sunrise or sunset would add more to it and give it better contrast. Having a "unique" ripple (whatever that might mean) would also provide a focal point for the viewer. This type of capture, though simple in concept, is difficult to pull off.

Wonderful greyscale with nice tonal range. The clouds take your breath away. This should be in the hunt for a ribbon.

Good action silhouette. The grainy and white outline to the skate boarder seems to fit well. I'm interested to learn the technique used to achieve the outline effect.

Interesting composition and stark silhouette. There is digital haloing along the outline of the cathedral but not too bad. A little noise reduction would make the clouds look smoother and add more to this fine image.

Great capture and framing and shallow DOF adds much to this composition. Your choice to highlight yellow coloring helps make this an outstanding image and one of the best of this challenge.

Misty Morning

Exceptional B&W image. Nice greyscales, lighting and composition. There is a touch of haloing along the sharp edges of the boats but no other digital artifacts. The fog and calmness of the water gives this a haunting richness deserving of a ribbon in this challenge.

Nice composition and content. It looks like it is not level and that is distracting to me. There is a nice tutorial at DPC on how to easily correct that if you use Photoshop.
