Waitingby parrotheadComment: Congrats on a top 20 placing.
One of my personal top three picks of the challenge. Focus, lighting and midtones are astounding in this image. A tad more contrast would attain technical perfection. |

A Spider In My Gardenby GolferDDSComment: One of my favorites in the challenge. Wonderful color, focus and refections in the water droplets. Great job. Now you can feel free to clone out those distracting darks spots that look like dust on the photodetector. |

Little One by wsteynComment: Congrats on the ribbon. Focus and lighting very good and excellent use of the rule of thirds. Warning: Bad pun alert!... Normally, insects 'bug' me but not in this image. |

Tender by jaxedComment: Congrats on your first blue ribbon!
Given your excellent start at DPC and the overall care that you put into your work it is likely there are more ribbons to come. |

Delicate Conditionby jpochardComment: Score: 6
Works very well in B&W and has good black/white tonal range. The perspective and pose is excellently conceived. You catch the couple in a tender moment looking lovingly forward to the future.
On the technical side the lighting from the left is too bright. The mother's left forearm and top are overexposed. A touch of angled backlighting to provide a boundary to the back of the heads is worth considering.
The hands seem unbalanced and would be better if her right hand were positioned over his hand like they are on the left side.
Artistically, and particulary for a photo challenge, this would be better without the mother wearing the top. But we can certainly understand how a modest couple might think differently. :) The top is not flattering and distracts from the image but part of that is because it is overexposed. Perhaps an opened, button down, monochromatic, short-sleeved blouse pulled back but with strategic, flowing coverage might work better. |

Time for Meby CalliopeKelComment: Lighting and sharpness aside, this is a well posed, touching image. It deserves its score. It could be a tad more sensual than intended but might not be if she were tying a big ribbon(Perhaps white) in her hair. The blinds are not level which is distracting and would be better if they were not there at all, but then you probably would have got ZERO shots instead of four. Your model(daughter), though quite young, is a very brave and classy girl. |
