Povertyby elenocComment: Very nice concept. The shadow on the left disturbs me, but the idea is great. Like from the motivational posters. 9. |

October 2004 by TiberiusComment: Yeap. That is poverty.
I think it could be just a little bit sharpened. 7. |

Spirutual Seekerby tomsperdutoComment: Oh yeah... Even if you are poor financially you can be extremly rich spiritually. I wonder what was happening with those people there? Extremly expressive portrait. Pity it's so small. DPC should allow bigger images. 8. |

Dream vs Realityby KatrankaComment: $1000? In one note? You are rich :))))
Very good title for the picture, I just think how does it relate to poverty... I have some doubts but I like the composition and execution -> 7. |

The Invisible Manby TallblokeComment: I know what you mean I guess. I think if you lft more of "by passers", not looking at him, laughing or talking to each other - it would've make the message much stronger. And if decided to crop him so much, maybe it would've been better to crop the marbel as well as it doesn't add to the "poverty" feeling. I like the idea, just a little bit more context needed. 7 |

Poor Streetby cristiansComment: I think it would've been interesting to make a shot of the building on the left only. The eyes are directed towards the fine building in the background so it doesn't leave the impression it is poor street indeed. The building on the left with its texture, old windows, etc. is just perfect for the challenge topic. I like duotone here as it makes the texture of the wall stronger. 7 for me.
Edited: Building on the right for God's sake.... Sorry for the mistake and congratulations with your top 50 placement. Message edited by author 2004-11-05 18:55:02. |

hungry under the tableby DonaldComment: If not the title, I wouldn't be able to guess what is it about. I have an impression it is overdone. Sorry. |

One Wishby fotodudeComment: That is my wish as well :) To get a house in Poland is not neccessity - it's a luxory. I like the idea, just the light blink on the roof of the "house" makes is difficult in the very first moment to guess what is it about. Maby solid background could make it stand out more. 6. |

Suffer the Little Childrenby GuinnessComment: From her face you can see she is either confused or sad or scared a bit. If there was more context it would've been very helpful. Now I can see a worried chiled, not the poor one. But it is a nice photo. Maybe you shouldn't have crop it so much. I feel a little bit more of air would've been better. 7 for a very nice portrait. |

Poverty among the wealthyby houwelingenComment: I have a feeling you were inspired by the Implied Lines Challenge :)
I get the idea of the photo (I hop so). The problem is, the red fruit looks totaly different, not poor, although I guess it is the same type. At first I thought it's a bit of carrot.
Generally - it is definately different than poor child or a homeless person. Absolutely in line with the topic. Just the colours make it sooo optimistic. It's more like "Differentiate" than "Poverty". For the idea and execution I give it 7. |
