The two curves of gondola and bridge actually cancel out the noise of people. Wish it were less saturated, but there is zen quality. Composition and a half.

I think the swan's just a wee bit too central for this image to - wait for it - dislocate the viewer from routine perception. Has zen simplicity but lacks zen detachment (because of the composition's geometry, forgive me, I'm struggling to express something here)

The tree is a koan. I suppose it should ideally be silhouetted against the sky, but I wouldn't have gone swimming with all that camera gear either...

All that bright colour just wipes out anything zen for me. Looks like you've made something and backlit it - fair bit of work. It might have worked (for me) in b&w. Luckily, that's just me :)

Terrific shot. Don't know what people are looking for, but for my taste, less plastic, more texture and perhaps a little less saturation/contrast...

I can see that the 'total' silhouette effect is deliberate. YOu would probably have to be very clever to light the skeleton for texture while not losing that effect. Just a thought.

The trouble with shots like this is that I know there's colour there and I can't see it. If that patch of sunshine had managed to fetch out a flash of colour then it would enhance the greyness of the rest by contrast. As it is it just looks desaturated. I expect it was quite exciting weather, but I'm afraid the drama didn't reach me...

Could be I'm just looking for excuses to mark down Icelandic pictures, but the sea and sky are not as grey as you have made them here. Maybe they are, but it doesn't look that way, so...
That's a shame, because the picture as a whole benefits from being monochromatic.
