Mercuryby libertyComment: interesting that your subject takes up such a small portion of your photograph. |

Nature's Goldby glenncComment: Interesting interpretation of the challenge, I don't think it will go over well due to the lack of an element, but I appreciate your thinking beyond the challenge description. Certainly nature is full of gold!!!
Unfortunately, I feel the composition is lacking a focal point to support your intended subject in my opinion. I'm not crazy about the use of the reflective surface as it resulted in significant ghosting (at least I think that's what happened, I suppose it could be movement and it's just blurry).
I think it may have been interesting to have the flower facing the sun. Your "gold" would have been more prominent rather than in a harsh shadow.
Sorry for the rough cc. 4 Ben Message edited by author 2008-11-18 00:08:44. |

Pb (Lead) Magnolia Stamen.by BrianRComment: Clever. I like the concept, very funny. I have a feeling that the stem and yellow (?flower) in background could have been left out. Too distracting. Also, for my taste it is over sharpened in certain regions. Halo/outlines are quite prominent. I'm still giving it a 5 for the concept. Now go catch a fish! |

Swivel mirrorby IreneMComment: Ah, I knew this was your photograph! Always so simple and elegant. My question, Irene, is what is going on at the bottom of the photograph. It looks like a ring of flare (green on my monitor), I'm sure it is a reflection from the mirror. No one mentioned it so it may have gone largely unnoticed. Nicely done as always. |
