As stated, the steam really adds to this one. For me it makes the shot. As you say it would have been nice to have someone walking your way, particularly with a nice evil grin on!

Scary stuff! I thought you might have engineered this, but what a find! All you need is complete and utter fear on the boy's face and you've got an absolute classic!

I actually like both of these shots, but I prefer this one. The wider crop gives more of a sense of scale and location. Your angle is awesome!

This is absolutely amazing! Kids chasing pigeons are always wonderful subjects for candids, the joy they exhibit is unbelievable! You've done a great job. I always find that either making your colours pop, or using B&W for these sorts of images works. By giving the colours some punch you'll focus the image a lot more on the girl's form, and black & white with birds will tend to draw your eyes to the shapes of the moving birds, try some alternate processes. Having said that, this image on its own is outstanding! Love it!

The conversion here was surprisingly simple.

1. Levels - Pull in the ends to increase contrast.
2. Add texture, a wall I picked up in India, and set the blending mode to Multiply (50%).
3. Erase a little of the texture off the little poles.
4. CS3 B&W layer, standard settings except for a sepia tone (42 degrees, 10% saturation).
5. A little hard light layer to darken the corners.

Voila. All done.

It's actually wood, India is quite famous for the woodblock printing technique in their handmade fabrics... funny story to go with this one... it's actually a fabricated factory... made up to lure tourists into buying cheap wares... hehe.

This came out really well. That church was a great find, lots of interesting work in the windows and on the walls.
