Well - you got hit hard on this one. I had a feeling this was yours when you were posting your score in the threads. I give you credit for attempting some pretty intense postprocessing, although I guess I wasnt really sure what you were shooting for. I too didnt get the tie in to Larson, but then I didnt get all of his work either. I think your editing just sent this over the top into way abstract land and it couldnt find its way back. I would be interested in hearing your vision and concept though. That might bring a bit of clarity into the work.

Well - I didnt score this one great. I gave it a 5. I felt it was a bit flat in color and contrast. Seemed like a lack of detail in the white part of the plant. I think it was a bit soft and lacked the "wow" factor. A quick look at your alternate and I think you entered the wrong one. While still a bit soft on the barbed wire the colors and detail on the flowing white stuff made up for it. But hey - a 5.98 and 2 favorites you cant really complain now can you.

Perosnally I didnt get it. Missed the message altogether. Felt flat and the seeds and pod really didnt hold any interest for me. Overall just not an attractive shot. But it happens to all of us. Your portfolio is strong. Just call this a hiccup on your path through DPC.

This is an amazing shot. If I ever came up with a picture like this I could probably put my camera away and be content forever. Beatiful colors, amazing detail and a perfect timing of a wonderful balance between the two swans. Dang I am jealous.

This is a nice shot Shez. Good colors and textures. THere are two things that might make it stand out a bit better. First the inside black border is thicker than the outside - gives it an odd feel to it. Maybe thinout the inside border to the size of the outside one or even a bit smaller. I like that you have the obejects coming in from the upper corner but the crop seems a bit tight on the other corner. I think it would be good to have som eempty sand space on the right and bottom. The cropping off of the shell on the right doesnt feel right. I think a bit of extr aspace would really finish off the composition nicely. It just feels a bit tight over there right now. Wonderful variety of shapes and textures and good flow to the shot. Nice work again Shez.
